Public Service Announcement The following public service message is a part of the campaign used to promote the Beijing + 15 both in the Gambia and, eventually, throughout Africa. The adveritsement uses the tying of the Lappa (wrapper) as a symbol of the growing empowerment of women throughout Africa. African women often re-tie or adjust their lappa when they're about to "get down to business." It is with this mentality that Ministers of Women's Bureaus throughout Africa met the week of November 16th - 20th, 2009.
